My Nail Routine

Hey guys,

Today I show you my nail routine. Enjoy, and I hope you'll learn something, haha :)

First of all: NEVER CUT YOUR CUTICLES! You can still buy them, they miserable cuticle ruiners. Cuticle scissors. Sometimes their on a cuticle pusher! :( Tough I'll ask you, PLEASE don't use them.

A nail routine is all about taking care of your nails. It's not just paint your nails and go on with your life (whooh it sounds like a drug addict hahaah), and if you do: your nails won't thank you for that.

This is what I use:

- Cotton pad & Cotton swab
- Cuticle oil
- Nail file
- Hand Cream
- Base Coat that protects your nails, and make them healthy and unbreakable - yay! :D

Step 1
Get rid of you old nail polish. Use a aceton free remover.

Step 2
Rub Cuticle Oil into your cuticles (if you don't own any, use olive oil) and push back your cuticle. I use a cotton swab dipped in cuticle oil. Find out what works the best for you! :D If there's some oil on you nails, remove this with nail polish remover on a cotton pad.

Step 3
Give your nail a perfect shape - I usually shape my nails square or squoval. You can also use a buff file to make your nails smooth and shiny.

Step 4
Apply a base coat or a nail hardener to protect and strengthen your nails. I like to use my selfmade garlic base coat. After this you can paint your nails in the color whatever your want :D! End with a good sealing quick dry blablablabla top coat.

Step 5
Moisturize your hands and nails with a soft nice-smelling hand cream :). Look at my zen zen zen hand cream, haha. Use the one you like the most. Mine smells delicious! :D

Hope you learnt something - maybe you discovered a mistake in your usually manicure routine. Hey but remember, it's never too late too stop! ;)

Wipe out Flower Tutorial!!!

Hey ppl,

Today I'm going to show you how to create a beautiful flower on your nails without konad. I inspired this tutorial on an accident that I had with making a little cute flower on the top of my nail after that I wiped out one of the leafs I decided to do it on all of them and here is the result. The tutorial is divided in 8 steps for you without giving base- and topcoat a step because thats just a habitat. I painted this tutorial on the nails from my friend Iris, because my nails were still full of the Lacy Roses =P. Okay well let's start the tutorial!

Step 1:

Paint your nails with a ivory coloured nailpolish (I used (735) Pearly Pink by Max Factor). You just need one layer because the background doesn't need to catch attention.

Step 2 & 3:

First create five drups of purple nailpolish(I used The One And Only by Essence Multi colour dimension) in the form of a circle. Don't use a dottingtool because you need the drups to be thick. Now you have to create one white drup (I used (02) White Secret by Essence) in the center of the five purple drups. Again don't use a dottingtool. Don't let the drups dry when you start with the fourth step

Step 4:

With a toothpicker you have to go from the center of the white dot to the top of the upper purple drup, then go with the toothpicker from the center of the rests of the white dot to the end of the left purple drup and continue like this through the last three dots. When you have to less white you can add a very little drup. If it looks like my flowerlike wipe out on the left you can continue with step number 5.

Step 5:

Now use your toothpicker again and to stripe the mess next to the leafs into the center so you get the effect from the picture on the left.

 Step 6 & Step 7

First you have to make silver lines (I used Kiss Nailart Paint (SPA10) Glitter by Mac) out of the spaces between the leafs of the flowers to the bottom of your nails. Next you make dots at the left side of all the lines by using a dottingtool and some white nailpolish or a nailart pen (I used(02) White Secret by Essence)

Step 8

At last you make a little purple nailpolish (I used (541) Gasoline) dot by using a dotting tool in the center of the flower. Now (after drying) all you need is a topcoat and your nails are done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial (and I hope you subscibe =))

Hi guys,

This tutorial is inspired by a little gift I got from someone. I thought it was a great nail art design and made a tutorial for you^^. I have divided this tutorial in six steps, so you can easily keep up (I haven't photographed my nails with base- and topcoat but you do need them in this tutorial).

                     Step 1:

(After putting up your basecoat) paint your nails a cute light pink colour (I used (286)OysterPink by Rimmel London) and let it dry. When you have it all dried and egally spread over your nails, usually your second coat because light pink is mostly a very sheer colour, you can continue with step number two.

                     Step 2:

Paint a stripe of white nailpolish (I used (02)White Secret by Essence) in the center of your nail, then by using a dottingtool make the stripe a little ''lacylike''.

                     Step 3

Make some bows with a nail dottingtool or a nailpolish pen (I used French Manicure & Pedicure Pen by essence)

                     Step 4

Make 3 little red dots using a dottingtool or just a little drup of nailpolish (I used (11) So Glamourous by Essence) at the top of your nail.

                    Step 5

Make 3 little dots of white nailpolish on every red dot (I used (02)White Secret by Essence) and by using a toothstick mix the red with white.

                   Step 6

Make little with golden/green nailpolish and a dottingtool  ''sidewayshartslikeleafs'' =P next to every rose (I used Shade No. 26 by 2true). When it has dried you can use a topcoat.

Hope you enjoyed (and hoping for comments),
Sarah

DIY - garlic nailhardener

Hey guys,

Is everybody enjoying their weekend?

Yesterday I read about a great do it yourself - tric on one of my favourite beauty blogs. I'm not one of the doomed people who got broken nails as soon as they're longer than their finger, but this nailhardener is also working great on my nails. I think this is a good-working, moneysaving tip for everyone who keeps sucking with regular nail hardeners.

All you need, is a transparent nail polish (I used Catrice - I can see trough you) and one toe of garlic.

1) Peel the garlic and cut it in tiny parts. Not too tiny - they have to fit in the bottle of nail polish, but you must be able to paint your nails without bonding garlic on the brush.
2) Let the nail polish rest for a week. Every day you have to shake the bottle a bit.

Tadaaah, here's your selfmade garlic nail-hardener!
I'm using it since three days ago, and it works perfectly.

Enjoy trying out & till next time! :)

Catrice - Caught on the red carpet

Caught on the red carpet

Good morning guys!
This is Catrice - Caught on the red carpet, a beautiful red color.

Okay, first I have to say: in "real life" this color is really different. I don't know why it's so hard to photograph nail polish... On the original photo (this photo is already photoshopped) it seems like Caught on the red carpet is an regular red, but it's more like cherry-red, more to the Catrice - The devil wears red-side.

Anyway, I lalalove this color! :) The formula is also good, and the brush is very thick and easy to polish with. I love the Catrice-brush!

I'm sorry guys, I have something to say about the upcoming How to rescue you nail article... It's not upcoming. I had to do it quickly in the evening, and it was already dark outside - so I couldn't make any pictures. But, I promise, when my nails are broken, I won't rescue them in the evening :).

Take care of yourself, and till next time!

New Catrice polish & layout problems

Hey guys,

You may have seen that sometimes the header is doing weird things. Excuse me, but I think blogger was hungry and decided to eate my site :(. I'm still bizzy with a good "fitting" header, you'll see! :)

I bought three new Catrice nailpolishes, and the swatches are going to be on the site as fast as I can photograph them... the weather is really bad. As soon as I can find some sun, i'll swatch them. Today I am wearing one of them, sooooo that's the first one you can expect! :)

Today was a bizzy day. I polished my grandma's nails, but - as dumb as I am - I forgot my camera. So there are no photos, but I think you can imagine a grandmother with limegreen nails, can't you? Love you gran!
I'm bizzy too with the how to for selfmade nailhardener.

So, now you know what you can expect, good night and I hope you'll get some sweat dreams ^^

Bye!

Olive oil used as a beauty product

Hey guys,

Doesn't it sound weird? Yes, but actually it isn't. Our eyes only see the world oil, but you've too see the whole thing. We think: "I'm not going to do that, oil makes my hair and skin oily." But when you do it right, olive oil will make your hair soft and shiny and give you a soft skin. I know this post isn't about nailpolish, but I just have to share this awesome and money-saving tips with you guys :). Here are some tips to transform that green bottle in your kitchen into a beautyproduct.

1. Cuticle oil
If you rub a little drop of the oil into your cuticles, they'll be soft and easy to push back immediately. Make sure you removed all the oil before you start to polish your nails, because oily nails when you begin to paint your nails is not such a great idea, trust me.

2. Hair mask
Especially now, when it's this hot, this is a great idea. The sun is not your hair's best friend. And swimming is also not great for your hair. So when your hair is dry and dull, you can use olive oils as a hair mask. Use it like any ordinary mask, and wash your hair really secure because if there's still olive oil in your hair, yeah, then you'll end up with oily hair. Hehe.

3. Make-up remover
But a drop of olive oils on a wet cotton pad and use it to remove your eye make up. They say you can use it for removing your face make up too, but I shouldn't do that. I think it'll give you a lot of pimples.

4. Shaving oil
Using olive oil for shaving is a great idea. My skin always gets irritated when I use shaving gel, and this is a great solution.

5. Scrub
Last but not least; an olive oil scrub. All you need is sugar or salt, and of course olive oil. Mix the oil and suger in a bowl. You can make a real paste by using a lot of sugar, but you can also use relative more olive oil. Find out what works the best for you! :)

I think you can buy an extra bottle of olive oil for in the bathroom, am I right?

Enjoy trying out these tips, and till next time!

Essence nail repair pads, Essence nail art stickers

Hi Guys!

I promised you that I would make a haul post, so here it is. I didn't bought a lot, my money is like ehh. yeah, I spent it all.Look at the stickers, aren't they great? I can't wait to try them out.

Essence base coat, Catrice nail hardener, Catrice quick dry top coat

A base coat, nail hardener, and a top coat - nothing special.
I'm going to make a how-to, I found a way to make your own nail hardener. It works amaaaaazing, but I discovered it after I bought the Catrice nail hardener... Too bad, but I'll live with it, haha.

See you next time!

Catrice - I Scream Peach!

Hey guys!

Yeah, I know, my nails are short and my cuticles are looking really bad.
But I just had to show you this fab colour! :)
My catrice polishes are my all time favourite, the formula is really good and the coulours are beautiful. I put this colour on my nails 2 days ago, and it's still boring.

I hope you enjoyed this short post, take care of yourself! :)

Back in town!

Hey guys,

I'm back in town! :)
Sarah is still on holiday, so that means I own this blog for a few days. Mwuhaha!
Now the serious stuff. I'm not going to swatch a lot of nailpolish, because my nails are all broken. And that happened before I bought the Essence nail repair set (I'm going to test it on my mom's nails, because I think I contenimated her with the broken-nail virus). Too bad...

And what's next?
There's gonna be a haul-post, and I'm also going to make a nailpolish stash-page.

Aaaaand, this blog is going to be a lot more professional. And, the layout needs something FRESHHH...

Thanks for stopping by and till next time!
